Why Celebrate Christmas?
You have to wonder about this time of year. It really amazes me sometimes if people ever stop to consider what they are doing. You cant really say they dont know what Christmas is all about. Maybe they just dont have a clear understanding? Or maybe they dont really care, other than gift giving and receiving.
You see, Christmas is supposed to celebrate the birth of Christ, and yes, we all know and have heard by now that his actually birth was not at this time of year, but, you give a nod to tradition.
But it seems no one recognizes it. Or really thinks about it. That this is the only time of the year that he crosses their minds. Unless they are taking His name in vain, or twisting His words to justify some current PC trend.
You certaintly cant mention Christ in a schoolroom unless it is this time of year and probably only then if "mas" is after it. The only other time you would hear it, as I have said, is when it is taken in vain. You can have condoms, free speech (HA!), evolution, and "alternative" lifestyles brought up in classrooms, but not the one who is responsible for that classroom even holding together along with the rest of the world. (Col. 1:17)
The world goes along its merry, oblivious way talking about Him at their convenience, and usually jacking His words all out of shape, like when they use Romans 8:1 to justify things like sodomy and sodomites, and not even concerning themselves of the context of that statement. Politicians invoke His name at will when it is appropriate for them to do so, or to show they have a "spiritual" side, as did the current governor of Michigan during recent debates before the election. She boldly proclaimed to the moderator, "I believe in the Ten Commandments, Tim." She must have been talking about the movie, because if you look at her politics, you'd have a hard time believing it. On a basic level, the fact that she wont allow "Intelligent Design" to be taught in schools along with evolution, you could say violates the very first commandment. Not that I'm a big fan of government schools, but if you say you believe in the Ten Commandments, you'd think that having that taught would be at least an acknowledgement, albeit cursory, of His exsistance (not that He NEEDS it), and not pushing Him out because the State believes itself to be more powerful than Him, and can exclude Him from wherever they feel like. But children should be taught about God in the home anyway, so that is not so big a deal.
Where this gets interesting is when you get to the sixth commandment, "Thou shalt not murder". She claims to be "personally" against abortion, but will always protect a womans right(?) to choose. Does she really think anyone actually buys that load of horse manure? (Well, in a way they must, she did get reelected...or they just dont care about babies and more about their bank accounts) Politicians say things like that to get borderline, undecided, or fence sitters (take your pick) to vote for them because they seem to be "fair-minded" or "considerate of others", or worse,"moderate". Well, in this case, how about murderer. (Well, at least accessory to murder) How many people cannot see through these kind of self serving statements. If your against something, you are against it, or at least you should be if you have any kind of backbone at all. If you would sell out a conviction of this magnitude, how can you be trusted to look after the interests of anybody on anything?
They talk about separation of church and state, but that sure doesnt seem to stop some of them from popping up in churches to make campaign speeches during election cycles. Any pastor that would allow a politician to make a speech from his pulpit on a Sunday morning should be run off on a rail. Literally. That has no place in Gods House during His worship service any more than saying the pledge during a service does. The service is to worship God, not a politician or a flag. But politicians seem to violate this at will, while it is hard for Christians to get their point of views across in the political arena at all.
The world goes along this time of year and sees the Christ child and they sigh, and exclaim how wonderful. They dont seem to realize that He is no longer that Child. He went beyond the child to become the Savior, the Atonement for His chosen. But now He stands ready, as a Warrior, to do battle against all who oppose Him, and it is a battle He will not lose. And it will not end until all His enemies are His footstool.

John Kerry thinks he has had such a good plan for Iraq. If he were in charge, he'd probably still be talking to France and Germany, and Saddam would still be in charge in Iraq. At least, thats the impression I got listening to him last night. Coalition building.....yeah that would accomplish a lot. Thats all John Kerry is about in foreign policy ...talk, talk, talk, talk, yada yada yada

Blogger Help : What is BlogThis! ?
Politics of Fear???
John Edwards proclaimation that Dick Cheney is indulging in Politics of Fear because he is saying the country would not be as safe under a Kerry/Edwards administration rings more than a little hypocritical.
These are the same people after all who every election cycle claim Republicans are going to starve school children and rob the elderly of their Social Security benefits.

The only thing that getting rid of Trent Lott ensured is that there will NEVER be racial equality in this country. As long as someone can whine about any stupid remark you make, and people give it credence.... Now any time any legislation is attempted to be passed like affirmitive action, or some other racially motivatied special favoritism, and you express doubts about or are against it you'll be labelled to be "just like Trent Lott", in other words a racist, when in all actuality it is the Congressional black caucaus that is racist.
"If you dont give me what I want, I'll scream, "Racist", and then hold my breath". The Republicans have set them self up to be patsies for the next four years or so, and that is why I have had it with them.

I'll bet a lot of these people calling for Trent Lotts head are the same people who thought Bill Clinton was just a wonderful President. And I have some news for Jesse Jackson Jr. ( who seems to be as big a blowhard as his old man), personal or private failures are even more serious than public ones, for those are the ones that indicate what your really like. As for Carl Levins comments about this being an indication of what the Republican party is like, then if that is true, I guess we can assume the Dems are made up of womanizing, habitual, liars. Before taking Mr. Lott out on a tour of Civil Rights historical sites maybe him and Sen Lewis can take in a home thats been torn apart by adultery, see which one is more horrible. I am not saying racism is right or good, but do we need to get wound up every time somebody puts his foot in his mouth?

Well, so far so good. My wife seems to be recovering from her recent surgery well, though it will still be a few weeks before she can return to work. Thats ok, you can never spend too much time together, especially around the holidays. More later.
